At one of these energetic seminars we did an exercise. It was about deciding to go either for the light or for the shadow. At first I thought that it was easy and I certainly would be choosing the light but it turned out not to be that simple at all.
The exercise was as follows: Two slips of paper lay on the ground, the writing facing down. On one the word 'light' was written and on the other the word 'shadow'. We then had to sense the direction we felt drawn to and move towards it. Hence, I moved towards the slip that attracted me, stepped into the energy, sensed and observed it.
It was then about checking what was written on the slip of paper and to end the exercise at that point. But I had misunderstood it. Instead I stepped out of the energy and went to the other slip of paper in order to find out how that feels and make my decision based on both experiences. I wanted to sense the difference between light and shadow.
I found it difficult to make a decision because both energies felt pleasant and both had their charm in their own manner. What finalized my decision in the end was the feeling of familiarity. I knew this second energy very well and I felt safer there. I held on to the well-known and decided to go for the shadow because I did not know the light.
We humans live in duality. We carry light as well as shadow, different people in different forms, one carries more light others more shadow and this is no fixed line but varies all the time. Before I was able to choose the light I had to find out what prevented me from wanting to get to know the light.
First of all the light seemed eerie to me because I did not like some people who were considered to be full of light. But I only disliked it because it was false light emitting from those people and I had accidently taken it for the real light.
What is meant by false light?
To explain this I give an example. Native American people were considered
to live in close touch with nature before the white conquerors destroyed their
culture and robbed their land.
They were connected with mother earth and the divine father, the cosmos. They
had been living in accordance with Spirit, and the Source of all
Being. The Incas and Mayas were highly sophisticated people with exceptional
spiritual abilities.
Then the conquerors came and in the name of god a different religion, a different lifestyle was forced upon those people. For them it was forbidden to be in such a way as they are. They had to surrender to this foreign god, the god of the conquerors.
For the Native Americans it was then prohibited to live their culture or their spirituality. To them it was incomprehensible how one can own land, or buy or sell the ground, the air or the water. A completely different way of thinking, another life culture overrules the sensitivity, the spirituality, the culture of the Natives. How do the conquerors think about that? They consider themselves as being good people because they are acting in the name of god. They obey to their religion's rules and therefore are devout people.
But what do they really do? The obey rules. They obey the orders. They submit to the rules of the system, are servile and devout, thus good, system-compliant people. However, they are totally cut-off from their own power of judgment, from their inner knowing, from the voice of their heart. It is because they are separated from their own divinity, from nature, from spirituality from that which links us all together.
Indigene people from within their culture still have this union with life, with the power of nature, with the inner divine essence. So-called civilized people have lost exactly that. If they do something good then they do it from a rather morbidly servile approach, from subordination. What do they submit to? Do they submit to a God on the outside? They submit to the system which is represented by religion and the picture of a punitive thunder god, therefore the system maintains itself.
Thus, if we do good based on guidelines and rules we always follow guidelines from somewhere else. This somewhere else though is part of the system. We believe to be good people if we are acting from those motives. But what do we really do? We submit to the system and state to be good system citizens.
We do not listen to our inner voice, we do not listen to our heart, we do not seek the spiritual union with the divine essence instead we obey the rules of the system. It is a system which prevents the life-style of indigenous people and which exterminates them.
That system cannot admit their existence because those people are a thread to the continued existence of the system since those people go for their own divine essence and are the ones deciding to go for the light, the true light leaving no space for darkness. The system cannot allow this because the system needs darkness otherwise it cannot continue to exist.
I did not want to go for the light because I thought I then have to be servile, devout and keep out of mischief. I certainly did not want that. Instead I wanted to break rules, walk my own way and experience adventures. I was afraid of not being able to do so anymore once I moved into the light. I considered the light to be dull because I falsely thought the light is the system. However, it is not.
On the contrary, light means to behave in such a way as we really are and to listen to the inner voice even if it violates the rules because it does not violate the rules of the light but the rules of the system and thus of the rules of darkness.
The system prevents us from discovering the beauty of light. We do not know the light. The system often provides us with feigned light infiltrated with subtle darkness. Thus, we have no chance to get acquainted with the light.
However, light is anything but dull. It is fascinating, stimulating, encouraging, challenging and it is fulfillment. How do we know whether we are dealing with true light? Our heart is our guide. Our heart knows truth, our heart knows light. Let us look at the customs and cultures of the indigenous people and let us reconnect with nature and the true essence of our being.
Another example for false light is the term hope. At first hope seems to be very positive but what does really happen if we confide in hope? We do wait and at the same time we rob ourselves from being active.
When Pandora's box was handed over to the people, it contained the evils of this world. Hope was applied as a farther component to be able to endure the remaining ones. However this is rather a hint to false light because hope is just another component of the evil.
Hope leads to the fact that we give away our own power. We do not trust in finding a solution by ourselves but rather wait for a miracle to happen caused by someone from outside. Of course there is always help from outside and we constantly do get support. However, it is more powerful to trust or to ask for help instead of hoping.
Thus the system often provides us with slogans to hope for improvement and
rescue. It is an instrument of quietening or even paralyzing. Hope is regarded
as the worst of all evil because it extends the torture of the people.
Where else do we find false light?
Within religion if lived as a dogma. I do not mean to judge religion per se. Most people act from good intention and many bring true light in there. It is the structure, the superordinate power apparatus which brings darkness in. Furthermore it is the suppression of the feminine, the suppression of sexuality. To me personally it simply seems odd but of course everyone should decide for themselves.
Nowadays many people have left religion, e.g. because they do not consider
it to be up to date any more.
However, we people tend to still need guidelines to stick to. We need values
showing us the way. This could be an explanation for the New Age movement.
Those people who do not identify with religion any longer follow e.g. spiritual
leaders, or way showing gurus, or simply look for alternatives.
The system is very well prepared and absolutely supports these movements since the people feel like having escaped the old system and gained freedom. But what is really behind these new movements? Subordination to authorities, idol adoration, given values, hope, false freedom, manipulation et cetera et cetera all these things that can be found in the system as well.
Thus we create a system within the system doing nothing else but keeping the system alive while making the people believe in having liberated themselves.
Finally, what is true light?
I do not know the answer. But I do remember how good it felt to stand in that energy of light. We carry it within, we carry light and shadow. It is up to us to find out what true light really is. But our shadow parts do have their charm and in the end it is about getting to know both, gaining both experiences.
It is about accepting the game and about just playing with light and shadow,
and to play with joy and enthusiasm, curiosity and the desire for discovery.
But let us remember and be aware of what light is not. Your heart knows your
path, your heart knows truth, your heart experiences life on a different level.
Listen to your heart.
