Introduction

Mathilde had just entered her new flat in Berlin. The place still looked messy because there were cardboard moving boxes all over the place. There was just enough space to get to the bed, to sit down there and to take a deep breath. Mathilde needed some rest but could not quite get some. She was expecting a call from a friend and was disappointed. Why didn't he call her? He knew she would be arriving tonight. He knew she would be feeling alone in the new flat and in the foreign town. She was expecting him to comfort her. But he did not.

The phone began to play music. Mathilde's mood was lifted immediately. Finally, he rang. Joyfully she picked up the phone and looked at the display. But it was not him, it was her sister. Usually she liked talking to her but right now the disappointment was stronger. But she tore herself together and answered the phone.

After the initial disappointment, the conversation turned out exceedingly well. Mathilde was glad to have heard a familiar voice in this foreign town and felt a lot better after the call. She was then able to surrender to her exhaustion and fell asleep leaving the disappointment behind. A new day lay ahead with many challenges. The new town had to be explored, the moving cardboard boxes had to be unpacked and order had to be made. A new chapter was about to start in Mathilde's life.

The story ends here. Mathilde is me. But my name is not Mathilde. Actually, my name is not relevant at all in this context. This is just one of countless stories. Who am I? Am I just a story? Is my life only one of these stories? If I am not Mathilde who am I then?

Am I my name? Am I the story that happens to me? What are all these stories good for, all the stories that we may experience as Mathilde, Maria, Frank, Martin, or whatever our name might be?

What happens if we do not identify with the stories any more but with our true essence, with our innermost being, with that what we really are? Well, our perception changes then.

I would like to see this world in peace and people living in harmony and remembering the oneness with nature and all beings of the planet. I'd like to see humans stop destroying our own living space. Therefore it could be helpful to remember who and what we really are.

So, who are we? We are multidimensional beings whose conscious perception on this planet is considerably limited. We are beings which have gone through the veil of oblivion. And we walk through this veil over and over again. Sometimes I believe to have understood matters, only to forget them again. Sometime later I figure out things again, just to realize I already knew them.

Why do restrictions exist? I think they were imposed on us because we allowed it to happen. We allowed it because on some level we chose them. For what reason should we choose restrictions? Maybe we chose them in order to play games without knowing the outcome. If I already knew the outcome, then the game would be dull. No surprising moments. There wouldn't be these moments which lead us to believe that we have comprehended something absolutely new.

Basically we already know everything but it wants to be experienced over and over again anew. It wants to be lived. It wants to get to know itself although it already knows itself. What is IT? This is our essence, our being, our very own strength, IT from which the universe and all universes have originated.
