Meaning of Life

2014/05/21: Sometimes the question about the meaning of life is asked. So far nobody gave me a universally valid and concrete answer to questions like: Why must I die? Why do I live? Why am I here? Why are the circumstances as they are? Why must I suffer? Why do I have pains? Why do I lose dear people? Why is there war? Why is there environmental pollution? Why do the people hate each other? Why did God create this? Who is God anyway? Why is there darkness? Etc.

There are certainly many answers to these questions and according to the situation also some we can accept. Or we simply do not think any longer about finding answers to such questions.

From my experience it is in such a way: If we are balanced, well grounded, in deep peace, feel satisfied and have a stable connection to our higher guidance then there is no question about the meaning of it all. Questioning the meaning rather appears in situations when I am discontented, afraid, discouraged, or pessimistic about the future.

Therefor it is not a matter of answering the question but to figure out why I am posing the question. It is about acknowledging the feeling of no meaning and by examining this feeling completely it leads to finding the cause of having it in the first place. What is behind the feeling of no meaning? Is it maybe fear or desperation?

The awareness helps to let go. The meaning of it all is to have the experience of feeling no sense. While we are on earth we want to experience the complete range of emotions one can possibly have even the feeling of senselessness.

And we are able to let go once we acknowledge and accept it. Many of us tend to suppress emotions if they are unpleasant instead of getting to like them. It is not about sticking to them but to accept them in order to let go. Let go of the fear of unpleasant emotions. It is about finding out that unpleasant emotions are not long-lasting but want to be acknowledged just as much as we do it with pleasant emotions.

If we manage to stop judging our emotions and just observe them then there is no condemnation of our emotions. Of course we evaluate them and we perceive some as pleasant and some as unpleasant. But even pleasant emotions do not constantly remain. They appear, we are happy as one can be, and then they leave again.

It is the same with fear, fury, grief, pain and the like. They appear and if we allow them to be perceived completely then they disappear again. They disappear if we stop suppressing them. The more we suppress them the more they want to rise to the surface. Maybe we succeed in sweeping them under the rug for some time. But if something happens in our life that lifts the carpet then they are back.

If I talk about perceiving and sensing our emotions then I do not mean to avoid taking actions. If a situation is intolerable and we do have the possibility to change it then we certainly should do so. However, it is very useful to observe and acknowledge in order to see the true cause and to find a solution.
